Hello again, dear readers!
Today I want to introduce you to (or maybe just talk about) capsule wardrobes. Are you one of those people that have a wardrobe full of clothes but never know what to wear? If this is your case, a capsule wardrobe is the solution!
Hola de nou, estimatxs lectorxs!
Avui us vull presentar (o només parlar de) els "capsule wardrobe".
Capsule wardrobes are "mini wardrobes made up of really versatile pieces that you totally love to wear". Simple, right? I imagine that, at first, you may think that you cannot live with a mini wardrobe, but it always happens that you only wear a certain amount of clothes (your favourite ones) among all you have, don't you? Do you ever wonder why are you keeping a closet full of clothes you don't love/wear, as well as spending money on them? Capsule wardrobes are great because they teach us that we can be happy (and dressed) with A LOT LESS.
Senzill, no?

How does it work?
1.- Decide a number of clothes (for example, 33, 37, 40, even 50 if you think that's what you need) that include (generally) tops, bottoms, dresses, outerwear, shoes and bags (even though, shoes and bags may not be included in some capsule wardrobes). Housewear, sportswear, underwear and this kind of clothes are not included.
2.- Reduce your clothes to this exact number and only wear these clothes for three months (aka a season). During this time, you don't need to go shopping, because the clothes in your closet are perfectly fine for what you need.
3.- After three months, you need to rethink your capsule wardrobe: think about seasonal clothes (anoraks or swimsuits, for example), about this lacking in your wardrobe (or left-overs), etc. Buy whatever you need (always remember that less is more).
4.- Plan your new three-month capsule wardrobe, applying all you've learnt in the past.

I also want to share with you some bloggers/vloggers that are into the capsule wardrobe thing and that I like. The first one is Caroline Rector, from Un-fancy blog. She was one of the first bloggers to do it and she deserves a big part of the merit. I get to know capsule wardrobes thanks to her, and apart from loving her blog and initiative, I love her style. In her own words:
To me, a capsule wardrobe represents more time and energy for what really matters (less time spent deciding what to wear / less time spent shopping / less time doing laundry or caring for clothes) more money for our dreams + helping others (less money spent on clothes that never get worn) and more contentment and happiness.
I really recommend visiting her blog since she has "starter kits" with capsule wardrobe planners and more. Go check it!

A benefit from having a capsule wardrobe is that you can spend your money in quality, sustainable clothes, like Verena, from My Green Closet, does. We have already talked about her YouTube channel in this post, but let me insist: just watch her!
